BACKGROUND + PHILOSOPHY

PorterFanna Architecture was established in 2007 with the goal of promoting excellence in design and responsibility in execution, specializing in contemporary residential design and project management. The partners of PFA; LJ Porter, Maria Elena Fanna and Clayton Collier were trained as Architects but moreover, as meticulous project managers and stewards of the design as it is executed in the field and carried through to the final building. This experience was brought to PFA and is the critical skill that makes us who we are.

We operate as Architects and Designers and are as facile producing high level presentations as we are in drafting drawings, filing with local building departments, negotiating with contractors, budgeting and construction administration. We have a staff of experienced, thoughtful and dedicated designers and draftsman and are licensed and insured professionals.

Through the combination of form, color, texture and innovation we strive to create projects that are both unique in design and responsive to their context. The key element to this process is the collaboration with each client leading to a project that develops to its full potential through discourse and the sharing of ideas. Solutions are achieved through a process of comprehensive analysis and distillation to create the most beautiful, economic and sustainable solution possible.
